Spiders in Virginia

North America has over 3600 species of spiders out of which about 60 of them are found in Virginia. Of the several spiders found here only one, i.e. the black widow is deemed as poisonous.  Another dangerous species, the brown recluse that dwells in most parts of America, is extremely rare here.
